JPENHS inks MOA with Class 87, launches school website
Jacinto P. Elpa National High School represented by its School Principal, Imelda C. Falcon, and JPEHS Class 87, represented by its Class President, Engr. Ramil A. Sanchez, entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on School Website Development and Maintenance, at the JPENHS Main Library on March 31, 2012. The MOA signing and formal launching of the school website, www.jpenhs.org, were made on the occasion of the 25th Graduation Anniversary of Class 87. Class 87 in expressing its profound gratitude to the school and their mentors presented its Class Gifts Certificate that indicated their commitments: 1) School Website Project, 2) Books for the School Libraries, 3) Equipments for the 1st Year TLE Laboratory, 4) Financial Assistance to Selected Ten Students (FASTS), 5) Various ICT Support Trainings. The occasion marked also as the kick off of Class 87's Silver Jubilee Celebration which falls during the triennial grand alumni homecoming on May 11-12, 2012. The website project is aimed at making the school truly global in reach and to be at par with leading high schools in the country, especially in ICT applications. It will serve as the site for the school's data and information required by different stakeholders. The website will publish the activities and accomplishments of the school, and it will organize resources for teaching and learning, facilitate communication to and from the different groups. Mrs. Falcon in her inspirational message acknowledged the contributions of the alumni to the success of the school. She thanked Class 87, cited the uniqueness of the website project because it will enable the school to connect to its alumni in the different parts of the world. She shared some of her memories with Class 87, at that time she was still teaching IV English classes and was the class adviser of IV-Dove. She said she never dreamed of becoming the principal, now 25 years after she will be retiring in September 2012 as the 4th School Principal. Mrs. Falcon further enjoined other alumni classes to connect and share to their Alma Mater, She further called on the new generation of teachers to make the most of the website and the Internet, improve teaching and learning so that JPENHS will maintain its academic excellence. An initial seminar on "The Internet and Web2.0" was conducted by Class 87 for the teachers and students, most of them are members of the school and year level website committees. Engr. Sanchez enjoined the teachers to explore and keep abreast with the technology because in order for JPENHS to be global, it must utilize technology and they have to teach to ways the students learn best. |

School website project of Class 87 approved
Jacinto P. Elpa National High School through its Principal, Mrs. Imelda C. Falcon approved the JPENHS website project proposal of JPEHS Class 1987 that will put the school at par with other leading high schools in the country. The project will make JPENHS truly global. It aims to : 1) make the school be more accessible to all stakeholders, 2) connect to outside resources, 3) publish its good works, and 4) serve as site for data resources. The project will pave the way for more ICT applications in school administration, teaching and learning. ![]() Class 87 pushed for the website project with its advocacy on technological education for academic advancement and progress. Class 87 will register the website under the domain jpenhs.org. The school website is one of the projects lined up by Class 87, the Silver Jubilarians for 2012.
The school website and all other related websites which shall become sub-domains shall use Web2.0 technologies like Blogger, and shall incorporate social media and Google Apps. Hosting is free based from Googlesites and Blogger. Planning and development of the website will be held on March 16, 2012. Series of trainings will be held to equip the website teams the desired knowledge and skills. |
Imelda C. Falcon, School Principal
Mrs. Imelda C. Falcon rose from the rank of a classroom teacher of this institution to an English Education Supervisor 1 of the Division of Surigao del Sur. She came back and assumed the position as School Principal after the retirement on October 31, 2009 of the late Mrs. Grace E. Crispo. She is the 4th principal of the school. |
